Burton Ruler Boots
Burton Driver X vs. Ruler.?
I’m looking for a new boot this year and really like the Ruler and the Driver X. My concern with the Driver is that it’s not going to break in properly and remain “out of the box” stiff for the whole season as I am only 5′5″ and 135 lbs. I have the opposite concern about the Rulers as they feel perfect now out the box but will ultimately loose some of that stiffness as the season goes on. I’m looking for some feedback on either boot from people who have experience with them. Any info would be appreciated.
One of my friends has the Driver X’s and he says they are great, especially for boardercross and going fast. But he also said that you have to wear them for about a month for them to be soft enough for freestyle riding. The ruler is freestyle boot so it will be soft enough out of the box, and they won’t lose that much stiffness over time. I personally would recommend the Thirtytwo TM-2’s for all mountain riding, they have the perfect amount of flex and support for everything. I am currently using the Thirtytwo ultralights and those are great if you are into park riding as well.
